October, 2007Welcome to the
‘07/08’ season of the Celtic Music Association.
This year marks the 16th concert season for the CMA. It’s hard to believe that
it’s been that long. Started by a few individuals with a desire to bring
authentic Celtic Music to Des Moines, they put up their own money and
resources to make that dream a reality. Since that time, the CMA has grown.
Over the years, many of you have offered your time and resources to support
the concert season, all of you dedicated to bringing the beauty of Celtic
music to Des Moines. Participation is strong. Attendance is strong. I can
safely say the CMA is here to stay.
This year we have a very exciting season. In October, Gerry O’Beirne and Rosie
Shipley grace the stage with masterful guitar and a fiddle strong and true. In
January, we try something new with the Tartan Terrors, North America’s premier
Celtic Comedy Event. And in March, Cara, rooted in Irish and Scottish
traditional music, but with ambitions to create a new and unique sound.
We are excited about our lineup this year. But we understand that it would not
be possible without your support and patronage. We’re proud of the community
we’ve become and the passion it shares for Celtic Music. Thank You and Enjoy
the Season!
