LEAHYS LUCK has been performing Irish folk music for twelve years
with four recordings to their credit and a Wisconsin Area Music
Industry 2001 World/Ethnic Group of the Year. In years past they've
played at the Quad Cities' Erin Feis, Peoria's Erin Feis, Chicago's
Gaelic Park, Cleveland's Irish Festival, and performed at many other
festivals, concerts, and gatherings throughout the Midwest. On St.
Patrick’s Day and Milwaukee's Irish Fest, the worlds largest Irish
Festival, the band consists of Brian and his three daughters along
with Tom and his son and daughter. As the children have grown to
adulthood with career aspirations, other friends have joined with
the band but the nucleus remains the same. Brian and Tom continue to
lead the band with guitars, bass, and distinctive vocals.
Evan Leahy, Tom’s son, a world-class Irish drummer, has played
internationally. While the bodhran he masters as his foundation, he
continues to develop his talent with guitar and vocals. Listen for
the bluegrass influences when Evan picks up his guitar.
Caitlin Leahy, Brian’s daughter, plays the flute, Irish flute,
and tin whistle as well as an occasional percussion instrument.
Caitlin’s vocal abilities shine all the more as she has matured. She
is a student at St. Louis University.
Performing with this group will be Dave Delgado, a tin whistle
and flute player. As a special addition to this concert we will
showcase two step dancers, Brigid O’Sullivan has won numerous awards
step-dancing and also will play the fiddle. Ryan Kinsella-Alba, a
co-founder of Kinsella Dance Academy in Milwaukee, will join Brigid.
Please join us at Holy Trinity Parish Hall this January 28. Doors
open at 7 pm and the show will begin at 8 pm.
Tickets are $18 before the day of the show and $20 at the day of the
show. Keep in mind any student accompanied by a paid adult will be
admitted free to this January show
