...are an Irish traditional music group based in Co. Waterford, made up of seven young male traditional musicians hailing from counties Waterford, Dublin and Tipperary and the biggest Irish county of all - the U.S.A.

They are very accomplished at the true Irish Celtic music and have delighted the fans that appreciate the "real thing". They first toured the States in 1996 and played to rave reviews then.

A wonderfully lively group on stage, a DANÚ concert is a unique experience, never to be forgotten.

What people are saying about Danu:

Washington Post:…their musicianship is as precise as it is spirited.”

Hot Press (Ireland’s equivalent to America’s “Rolling Stone”):”…Reels, jigs, polkas and songs tumble together in a glorious mix…”

New York Post: “… (“Think Before You Think”) is a polished, confident album that establishes DANU as one of Ireland’s very best traditional acts. Like the seminal Chieftains, DANU is interested in musical virtuosity and preservation of its heritage.”

Cleveland Times: “…That a band so youthful could come up with a release so sophisticated and deeply reverential for tradition is no less than a St. Patrick’s Day miracle…”

Irish Music Magazine (from Dublin) named DANU the “Best Overall Traditional Act” of 1999-“…all under age 30, the Waterford based septet make a most exciting and highly musical sound that stirs the blood and lifts the heart…”
